Our Story

Siblings McKay and Cecil are passionate about helping displaced people and taking steps to reduce environmental impact.

They found a way to put those two passions together by starting Bountiful Lawns in May 2020. Bountiful Lawns helps people who are displaced by drought, desertification, irregular weather patterns, and other disasters. Amid the economic turbulence of 2020 and resulting shortage in humanitarian funds, McKay and Cecil felt the need to do more to help some of the world’s most vulnerable people. As an added benefit, their approach to lawn care also helps homeowners reduce their environmental impact. They hope to influence the whole lawn care industry to employ better environmental practices. They also encourage all clients to limit the sizes of their lawns and to xeriscape parts of the lawn that go unused.

McKay and Cecil are both BYU graduates and have a combined experience of 15 years in the lawn care industry.

10% of all profits are donated to Lifting Hands International, a nonprofit that helps displaced people around the world. McKay has been heavily involved with this nonprofit for the past seven years and has enjoyed it immensely. LHI was founded by a fellow BYU alumna and runs its central warehouse in American Fork. One of its major initiatives is to ship hygiene and essential needs kits to areas that are impacted by increasingly severe natural disasters. This includes countries like Somalia and Bangladesh.

Lifting Hands International has the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency and spends only 2.5% of revenue on overhead.
